University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland
Glasgow University was founded in 1451 and is thus one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. Over the last decade it has sought Brakeley’s advice on a whole series of capital fundraising projects. Brakeley has done a series of feasibility and planning studies which have lead the University either to pursue successful campaigns or, in at least one case, to decide not to pursue a campaign at all. From time to time advice has been sought on other matters and in 2001 an audit has been carried out of the development department. The University has been one of the more successful in the United Kingdom in steadily growing its fundraising income and has a good alumni programme. Over the last 5 years, the University has raised £40 million.
“It has been very helpful to call on Brakeley’s advice on a regular basis to validate our activities and ensure we were on the right track.”
Cathy Bell, Director of Development.
