CHRISTINE GRAY
Senior Consultant
Originally
from New York, Christine has lived in the UK for six years. She joined Brakeley
as a Senior Consultant in 2008 to assist clients in the identification and hiring of new staff which is a return to her
roots in recruitment. After graduation from the University of New York at
Albany, Christine was hired by a boutique recruitment firm known for its high
level of service and exceptional client relationships. She worked closely with
the partners to identify candidates with the necessary qualifications while
equal emphasis was put on finding individuals that fit well within the
organisational culture. This tailored approach resulted in a very high staff
retention rate for clients and is the cornerstone of her personal ethos in
conducting a search.
Subsequently,
Christine entered financial services, working as a stockbroker for Shearson
Lehman Bros. and in private banking with Citibank before moving into
international banking. She then launched her own business selling antiques
which gave her the flexibility to pursue a career as a fine artist.
Christine
has extensive experience as a volunteer in the non-profit sector, having
tutored English as a Second Language to international students and actively
participated in the Host Family Program for international students at
Washington University in St. Louis. An avid animal lover, she participated in
an innovative, five-year study of rare antelope breeds at the Saint Louis Zoo
and has assisted organizations on the East Coast and in the Midwest training
problem dogs to facilitate their re-homing.
She has volunteered as a demonstration artist in an interactive
children’s museum, and participated in several community-based fundraising efforts.
Christine
has always had a love of languages and welcomes the opportunity to speak with
clients in French and Swedish. She can speak basic German and Spanish and has
recently begun to study Italian.
