Deepa
Chaudhary joined Brakeley as its Singapore-based consultant in June 2008. She has over seven years of experience in
professional fundraising, originally in her native India,
and more recently in Singapore.
From 2003
to 2006 she was Deputy Executive Director of United Way Mumbai, which she and a
colleague founded. She was responsible
for introducing United Way’s
Employee Giving and Major Gifts programmes into India and was a key contributor to
increasing UWM’s income ten fold and establishing a donor base of over 30
leading multinationals. In her work with
United Way,
Deepa developed good all-round fundraising expertise in the area of donor
relationship management, major gifts, employee engagement, corporate social
responsibility programmes and communication strategies.
Since
moving to Singapore
in 2007, Deepa has worked as a consultant with Habitat for Humanity
International and Nathan Associates, a disaster relief agency. She has also held the position of Development
Director with the Singapore-based NGO, the World Toilet Organisation.
She has a
Masters Degree in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Science
in Mumbai and BA Hons in Psychology from Delhi University. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
