LORETTA PANG
Senior Consultant,
Asia-Pacific
Loretta Pang’s
career in the education field spans over 20 years. Her experiences
cover
fundraising and grant making; all aspects of external relations
(alumni, public
and media, government, Greater China, and international); continuing
education
and executive education programs (for senior government officers,
seniorcorporate executives and professionals from the Chinese Mainland).
Prior to joining Brakeley, Loretta was head of development and public affairs at the
Hong Kong
University of Science and Technology (HKUST) where she worked since its
inception. She started the development office and despite the
university’s
young age, steadily built up a sizeable donation portfolio. In her last
year at
HKUST, Loretta, led the development team to successfully raise over US
$45
million; while serving as Special Advisor to the President
(Development).
A native of Hong
Kong, Loretta spent many years studying and working in Europe and the
United States, including 8 years as Simultaneous
Interpreter (Chinese, English, French) at the United Nations
Secretariat in New York. Returning to Hong Kong, she worked in
non-profit organisations,
including a Hong Kong-based education foundation which she headed,
focused on
supporting short-term executive and professional education for Mainland
Chinese.
Loretta
was awarded the Chevalière
dans
l’ordre des Palmes académiques by the French Ministry of
Education for
advancement of French culture and a Friendship Award for Foreign
Experts by a
provincial government of the People’s Republic of China for her
contributions in education in China. Loretta obtained her
first degree
in languages from the University of Geneva, and a Master of Educational
Administration
from the University of New England.
Since
joining Brakeley, Loretta has consulted with the Morrison Academy
(Taiwan), the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, the City
University of Hong Kong and the Western Academy of Beijing.
Active in community
services, Loretta volunteers her time to schools and women
organisations in Hong Kong.
