PETER ROHMÉE

Senior Consultant, Sweden

Peter Rohmée joined Brakeley as a Senior Consultant in May 2005. Previously Peter was a client of Brakeley in 1995 when working for the World Maritime University in  Malmö, Sweden. Since then he has maintained an association with Brakeley through his own management consultancy, by supporting the development of Proposals for Feasibility Studies and participating in the interview teams for a number of Brakeley clients. Since he joined Brakeley Peter has provided consultancy services to clients as Royal Institute of Technology (KTH Stockholm), Linköping University and the International Maritime Rescue Federation (UK). Since August 2006 he provides interim management services to Karolinska Institutet (KI) in Stockholm.

For the last seven years his consultancy PEROHCON has focused on assignments in project management, long-term financing and organisation development, mainly for international Not-for-Profit Organisations. Selected clients have been the Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA, Stockholm); Norwegian School of Management (Oslo); Sturup Flight Academy (Malmö); Swedish Basketball Federation; Swedish Foreign Office; Swedish Sports Confederation; Swedish Tourist Board; Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA/UNEP, Kalmar); Global Water Partnership (GWP, Stockholm), University of Malmö, City of Malmö and Region of Skåne. During this period Peter worked for two years as Project Manager for the European Championship in Basketball in Sweden 2003. Over the last years he has specialised in providing consultancy advice to regions and cities on their internationalisation process, including the economic impact at national and regional level of major events such as culture, concerts and sport events. In this field Peter is used as an expert by the Swedish Government.

Before becoming an independent consultant Peter worked for the United Nations for thirteen years as Personnel Manager for the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in London and as Administrative Director for the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö. For WMU he was responsible for the Human Resource Management and for the long-term financing of the organisation, including negotiations with governments, international foundations and international development organisations. Previous to his UN career he worked for eight years as Personnel Manager for the Swedish National Road Administration in Borlänge, the Regional Hospital in Halmstad and for the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute in Borås.

Born and raised in Borås, Peter divided his time between studies and sports, mainly basketball in the first league which included some appearances for the National Team. He graduated at the University of  Göteborg, where he majored in Public Management and Economics in addition to studies in Social Sciences and Communication Technology. He now lives in Skanör in southern Sweden together with Ann Christine and their two children.
