Samantha Kriegel joined Brakeley Asia in 2010 as a
consultant, bringing with her significant private and public sector
experience.
Samantha holds an AB in Literature from Harvard College and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Wharton, Samantha
worked for many years as a management consultant in both North America and Asia with the international firm McKinsey & Co. Her focus at McKinsey was in strategy with a
particular interest in sales and marketing.
Her American clients included Fortune 500 firms in the finance,
chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors.
In Asia, she has served clients ranging from the Indonesian Ministry of
Finance to one of Asia’s largest family-held
conglomerates. Samantha has also worked
as an internal strategist at Charles Schwab in San
Francisco and served as an adjunct lecturer in the Executive MBA
program at Temple University in Japan.
Samantha has had a long-standing commitment to the
non-profit sector and her early work experience includes time in the
development department of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Pre-MBA she was also a member of the founding
board of the San Francisco Volunteer Network.
More recently, she has led numerous fundraising initiatives as a
volunteer / board member. She is
passionate about helping non-profit organizations create high performing
fundraising functions internally and strong donor culture in their
constituencies, believing that these form the underpinnings of any group’s
ability to fulfil and sustain their mission.
Samantha has spent most of the past 12 years in Asia,
living and working in Indonesia,
Japan, and Hong
Kong. Additionally she has
worked in Korea and mainland
China.
